Lot Information:
ADELYN BAUER

Grade 9 - LAMBS - My name is Adelyn Bauer and this is “Clearance” my suffix cross market lamb.  Clearance was the best looking lamb in the group; and he earned his nickname by default as he was also the best priced lamb unbeknownst to me when picking him out.  Because of Clearance I learned a great deal about financial responsibility as it pertains to selecting and investing in an animal as well as expenses to care for one.  And for that I’m grateful. When I first bought my lamb in July I began the process of halter breaking him and teaching him how to set up and brace. I would tie him up to a bungee and work on his feet placement; I would often pull a chair up and work on my homework as I monitored him. Twice a week I washed and dried him. I sprayed conditioner in his leg wool ran a wool card through it to promote leg wool growth and then wrapped his legs in wraps to protect the wool.  I fed Clearance two pounds of feed twice a day and a portion of hay at night.  When he reached 100 pounds I began to exercise him by running him on a treadmill three to four times a week to help build muscle mass.  Now he weighs in at 160 pounds - so I call that success!  Raising a lamb has taught me responsibility work ethic and time management.  More importantlyin the last few days it’s shaped my character as I've been confronted with the reality that showing at the County Fair will no longer be a possibility.  I am saddened by this decision however I respect it and understand it.  Thank you for your consideration in supporting me through the premium auction.
