He is a direct son of JTB Preacherman 1298/4 from a Singleman (Remington) 976/5 daughter. 17/1’s dam is a cornerstone female of Klotz Farms and is known for her fertility, longevity and fleshing ability. His dam is the exact kind of female we all long to retain a herdsire from! 17/1 is extreme in gentleness and has been used as a junior herdsire for the Klotz family as a 16 month of bull. His first calves are being born at present and it appears he has done well transmitting pigment, correct structure and thickness to his calves. Lot 18 sells exposed to this sire. 17/1 falls in the top half or better of the breed for weaning weight, fat, and % retail product.
