Grade 10 - HOGS - I never would have thought in my wildest dreams that I would be told the news that my sophomore year I would not be able to show my pigs. My name is Sydney Scamardo and I have raised pigs since I was nine years old. This year was different because I had to teach my cousin who just began her show journey this year what I had been taught my whole life. Together we would go out every day after school to bond and care for our pigsRaising my pig Charlie took me not only taking time to feed brush wash and walk my pig but I also had to explain to another person how to raise an animal. To some raising animals may just be about making it to the show but to me it means growing a bond with your animal and my show community.
