Grade 6 - HOGS - My name is Zander Pruitt. I am a sixth grader at Bremond ISD. This year I raised a market hog to show at the Robertson County Fair. She didn't really have a name since we started out with so many in the barn we just referred to her as Blue gilt. I learned that raising show animals takes a lot of time and dedication. You may want to go and do other things but no matter what you do the animals must be taken care of first! They rely on us to care for them so we must do our part. The pigs require more daily care other than being fed. Every evening we take them for a walk condition their skin and brush them. They are washed every other day and my sisters and I change shavings once a week or sooner if needed. Thank you for your help!
