Polled Terra is A ONE OF A KIND four year old POLLED donor that is the quality to build a POLLED HERD around. She is the only polled daughter that we know of sired by the the famous (+)JDH Atlas Manso who teams up with his paternal grandsire (+) JDH MR Charley Manso to offer two Register of Renown and Maternal Performance Sires on her top side. 5 of 6 in her two generation pedigree are in the Register of Renown.
Our ole buddy Dr. Richard Forgason came to us at the 2013 MAS Sale in Wharton and asked us if we would like to share our top genetics and breed some NEW BLOOD POLLED Brahman cattle combining their best with our best. We were ecstatic about the idea and immediately got to work.
We offered 1/3rd interest in the pick of our heifer crop at the 2015 ABBA Houston Sale. La Reina Ranch owned by Newt & Pam Huffman bought the lot for $16,000. Right after the sale, Kelly Barnard, owner of Kansas Polled Brahman Ranch also bought a 1/3rd.
Their niece Claudia Kirk showed her at the All American and won Calf Champion which is tough to do. Polled Terra has been a good producer averaging 14 embryos per flush. They both have frozen banks that might be for sale after this sale. Their contact info is below.
Doc, Lana and us put a few embryos in and produced a super junior herd sire, LMC FCC Polled Atlas (see photo below) that we plan to collect this fall. We also have two full sisters to him sired by MR V8 139/7 (P/S) plus a full brother in the ABBA Bull Test which we encourage more ABBA members to participate in. It is the best and most economical tool a breeder can use to gather data to improve his herd and his commercial bull market.
