Have you ever thought about your name being in the history books?  At some point in time, these Guzerat cattle imported into the US will have an impact on not only American Pure Guzerat Cattle but also by broadening the genetic base of the American Brahman. Butler Farms is producing both Purebred Guzerat and and we are infusing some Guzerat into a select group of Brahmans. We now have our first ¾ Brahman – ¼ Guzerat calves and they are tremendous. Many breeders do not know that it is possible to put these new genetics into Brahman and they are still registered as Brahman. If we breed a Brahman cow to a Guzerat bull the offspring are Brahman. If the resulting half bloods are bred Brahman, they remain in the Brahman herd book. If the half bloods are bred Guzerat to reach ¾ Guzerat – ¼ Brahman, then they would go into the Guzerat herd book. Once an animal reaches ¾ blood of a breed it will be in that herd book.

The options are endless with Butler Zilu 16/7. She is Pure Guzerat with both Parents being imported from Mexico. Her sire was bred by Jesus Quintanilla and her dam was bred by SALIM Saide.  She is pregnant to our Pure Milking Guzerat bull *JJRC ECLIPSE FIV that was also imported from Mexico from the great Guzerat herd of Capitan Rovelo. Zilu 16/7 is picture perfect and exhibits the excellent dual purpose characteristics of the Guzerat breed. She can continue to be bred Guzerat and have an impact on the growth of this majestic breed domestically or she can be used to produce a complete new line of Brahman genetics. We love our half Guzerat half Brahman females. They will add frame and milk while maintaining the phenomenal beef characteristics of the American Brahman. Produce hybrid vigor within the Brahman breed. This female has as much potential as any female offered for sale domestically to date.  Zilu 16/7 can play in important role in developing the Guzolando dairy breed by crossing on Holstein and Jersey.  The possibilities are endless to become a true breeder and not just a duplicator.
