Grade 10 - HOGS - My name is Kaylin Ortner. I am a sophomore at Franklin High School. I spend most of my time going to school playing sports working with my show animals and spending time with my family and friends. Over the last seven years I have enjoyed raising swine so this year was no exception. I am grateful to live in a community that gives me this opportunity. My swine project has always taught me responsibility as well as work ethic. I purchased my hogs in November and have worked with them daily to get them ready for our county show. My hogs are kept in a barn at my house. This gives me the opportunity to keep a close eye on them. This year more than anything I have learned that the impact of our economy can truly affect the Agricultural Industry.
