If you are looking for a functional “cowy” kind of polled female then study VL Elena 27/2! This female is moderate framed, deep ribbed, heavy muscled, and easy conditioning. She is sired by VL Rojo Mocho 5/140 and out of a consistent calving daughter of VL Rojo Elegante 80/2 and +VL Elena 115/5. For those that might not be familiar with 80/2 he was a show bull, sired several successful show animals but most importantly was a trait leader for Growth and Marbling. If you read the footnote to lots 5 or 7 you realize that +VL Elena 115/5 is their maternal grand dam as well as to the 2018 National Champion Red Female validating her influence in our herd. As you might expect 27/2 is progressive in her performance profile being low Birth Weight, moderate for Growth, ranking in the top 15% of the breed for Milk EPD, 1/3 for Ribeye Area, and 5% for Marbling.
