From a pedigree standpoint, like lot 5 – she is sired by the longtime favorite of mine, and large contributor to our breeding program, +Mr. H Maddox Manso 684. +Maddox semen is not available on the open market, and when it does come available through special sales over the past several years, it commands well over $1,000/straw, which highlights the demand for these genetics. The dam to Dori is our standout donor, Miss V8 490/7, making her a maternal sister to Lot 2. 490/7 has a powerhouse pedigree, being sired by the original (+)JDH Karu Manso 800 and out of the World Brahman Congress and International Champion, +Miss V8 464/6. The quality of her pedigree is brought to life by the phenotypic qualities that Dori possesses. From the profile you can see that she’s a soggy centered, maternally driven female, who stands on a very functional and correct set of feet and legs. She’s also got the “extras” that help you rise to the top in the showring, being long and level from hooks to pins and offering extra extension and femininity through her head and neck. Dori is also notable for her disposition – being the first one to meet you at the gate for those extra scratches, and when she gets a little more comfortable with the halter she could be the perfect calf for a young showman.
