When you look at Dolly, she may not initially be the one that catches your attention, but the longer you look at her, the more you love her because you simply cannot find a flaw in this female! She’s so complete, with plenty of muscle and red meat, and a cool profile, all packaged up in a neat, moderate, functional package. Probably one of my favorite things about Dolly is how maternal and balanced she is from the profile – this is going to be a brood cow, if I’ve ever seen one! Her completeness is a direct result of a calculated breeding decision paying dividends. Dolly is the result of linebreeding the famous +Miss V8 464/6 x +JDH Sir Avery Manso mating, as she has both of the flushmates, +Mr. V8 191/7 and +Mr. V8 194/7 as grandsires on each side of her pedigree. I’ve been impressed with 191/7 and 194/7 for how successful each has been in their own right, but also for how they complement each other. I’ve always thought if you could put those two together, you’d have one that really had it all and that’s what we strove to produce here. Add that on top of the breed leaders, +M2 BRC Captain and our +Lady H Emma Manso 288/2 in the pedigree and you’ve got a true breed improver.
