Lot 5 - LMC LF Carina
We want to begin by thanking all the leaders who have made MAS possible through the years. The $15,000 MAS Showdown and MAS Steer Show has awarded $245,000 in premiums and awards to hard working youth and has had a tremendous impact on the Simbrah breed through its sale offerings. Floneca itself was created when Louie and I purchased Vela Tiffany back at the MAS Sale in 2008 and she has been a productive cow for us selling show heifers to La Blanquita Ranch, Daryl Raub Family (sold in MAS) and a show steer to the Santos Escobar Family. LMC LF Carina is Tiffany's latest edition and may be her best yet.
This gorgeous, red Simbrah baby doll is sired by the 2013 National Champion Bull, LMC Gold Medal. He is sired by the popular 2011 International Champion Bull LMC Rhino and out of the famous 2009 National & International Champion LMC WFC Ms Dream Girl cow who sold in MAS as well. Rhino sired Mia Barba's Grand Champion Female at the 2015 San Antonio and Houston Jr. Shows, as well as Micah Perkins' Reserve Champion Female at the 2014 Houston Jr. Show and Bailey Scogin's Grand Champion Female at the 2015 Rio Grande Valley Jr. Show among several other champions. Dream Girl is no longer with us, but left a strong legacy of production which includes the likes of the major champions LMC Daydream and LMC Gold Medal, as well as a slew of other tremendous cattle working in several competitive show strings and progressive programs. Dream Girl won multiple major titles and was as popular a champion as I have ever seen in Simbrah. Carina is a part of our first set of Gold Medal calves and we are excited about them.
Carina's dam, Vela Tiffany is sired by the Denver Champion PCC Night Moves bull who also sired the timeless LM She Moves cow and is out of Aaron Vela's NH Nublina cow who was his top donor for years. The She Moves cow has produced LMC RFI-Smith Red Bullet, LMC RFI-Smith Black Bullet and Smith Charming Moves, all International Champions and several other top sellers. The Night Moves bloodline has proved to feature longevity among several other positive traits, as several full sibs to She Moves and other Night Moves cattle are still successfully at work in numerous herds. Carina packs a tremendous genetic package that one could go back and trace several breed greats from and write pages of success stories. If you look back in MAS history to look at all the great cattle that have sold in these sales it is remarkable the impact that these cattle have had on the breed and we believe Carina is destined to have that same impact on Simbrah.
To talk Carina's phenotype, she is a gorgeous, deep sided red heifer with an attractive profile and genuine structure. Carina is long bodied, feminine and tracks out on a smooth and correct set of feet and legs. She has ample thickness, stands on good bone and is true in her lines. Carina is strong topped, has plenty of natural base width and appears to have a quiet disposition to this point. Carina is eligible for the La Muneca Jr. Program, which makes her eligible for the $15,000 MAS Showdown, $20,000 LMC $ellabration, $10,000 LMC Jackpot and the LMC Futurity. You will also get 2 units of semen from any bull whose semen is available in the LMC or LF Bull Battery until your child graduates from high school to breed Carina to each year.
