We bought our heifers from my grandpa. He worked his cattle in October, and we separated the heifers we thought would make a good pair. We took the heifers to the vet to get shots and get tagged in for the county fair. The heifers stayed at my grandpa’s. We paid my grandpa rent for the pasture. My grandpa had a bulk feeder for the heifers. When the feeder would get low, a feed truck would fill it back up. The heifers had an automatic watered and some hay in a hay ring as well. Before the fair was canceled, we took the heifers back to the vet to be palpated. We have to make sure our heifers are open for the fair. I studied the heifer questions for the interview, but the interview and show got canceled because of the corona virus. I really like having commercial heifers. I learn a lot about the cattle industry. I learn what it takes to raise a heifer to become a good mommy cow. I really enjoy commercial heifers and plan on doing it until I graduate. I want to thank everyone who put this together. I am very grateful for the opportunity to get to sell my heifers.
