Grade 9 - HOGS - My name Giovanni Diaz I’m a freshman at Calvert High school my favorite subjects in school is Tech class and Science class and I use my spare time playing the game and hanging out with my friends. This is my first year in 4H and showing swine. I wanted to see what it was about and see if it was really as fun as some of my friends said it was. I also wanted to see if I was responsible enough for doing it by myself because I had ever did anything like this before just to let you know I have not even took care of a dog but I wanted to care for a pig! I didn’t know what I was doing at first so I asked some friends that have been showing for a while now to help me out and to show me what it was all about. I was starting to getting the hang of it to the point when I knew what I had to do and what I had to do every time. Now one thing they forgot to mention was how heavy it was when you had changed my swine shavings. I guess they forgot I was a little guy! One thing I enjoyed the most was walking her because she was so good at it but when it went time to bath weight her now that's something she didn't like but we made it work the best for both of us. Just a few things I enjoyed about caring for a swine really enjoyed doing it and also how much I grew to love my little bacon. Was really waiting to be able to show her at the Hearne Fair on the 19th of March sadly I didn't get the chance due to a situation in our country. I know that my parents spent a lot of money and time to help get to my goals.
