Grade 8 - HOGS - Hi I am Peyton Colley. I am an 8th grader at Franklin Middle School. My sister and I show market hogs. We have three pigs this year. I have shown in the Robertson County Fair since 3rd grade. I love working with my pigs. I am responsible for feeding brushing and walking them. I have spent countless hours cleaning their pens. Every week I also help my dad weigh them. We adjust their feed based on their weight gain. This year I was going to show a barrow. I have enjoyed working on showmanship with him. Showing pigs has taught me things I will use later in life such as responsibility multi-tasking and problem solving. All of the money raised from my hog will fund next year's project.
