Lot 3 - MISS V8 821/6

Here’s a young bred cow that features a totally outcross pedigree than anything else in the sale. Her mother was purchased in one of Sloan’s ‘famous’ country cow deals he’s loved to make through the years. Some of us like to tease him about these “deals” he finds, then he’ll kindly remind us that the #1 cow in the ABBA Register of Renown - +Miss V8 617/2 resulted from a mating of one of his country cow trades from a $900 cow! Enough said. 

The bottom side of this pedigree will spark lots of interest when you notice the “JCT” prefix. This cow family comes from the J. Carter Thomas herd, one of the pioneer and great breeders of Brahman cattle in South Texas. Her sire, Mr. V8 414/5, is a herd bull owned with Ernest Cannon’s Windy Hill Ranch. 

She sells bred to calve this fall to Mr. V8 380/6, our most powerful young herd sire on the ranch. We believe this mating could be explosive by adding 380’s potent, Superstroke x Karu superior genetics mated to such an old and unique cow family as the J. Carter Thomas cows. This cow is very muscular and thick bodied throughout and should cross well with 380/6.
