After my daughters got done showing we sat down and looked into what direction our operation needed to go and decided to come down to La Muneca and buy the best Simbravieh cows we could buy. We had enjoyed much success with Simbravieh in and out of the show ring and appreciated their maternal look and productivity. We feel we selected the cream of the crop down at La Muneca and have been proud of their record thus far here at KF Livestock. Last year amidst a drought here in Burton all 10 of our Simbravieh cows bred back and had calves this season, this is very important to me and needless to say I was certainly impressed with the fertility and hardiness of these cattle.
We are offering your choice of four Simbravieh heifers in this offering, including a full and a half sister to the heifers that Tristan Chapa lead to the TCCA Simbravieh buckle title last year. These heifers are out of two former champions themselves, one sired by the popular LMC RFI-Smith Red Bullet and the other is out of the maternal Vista Foresight bull that La Muneca has sold several daughters out of for foundation mamma cows. These two heifers did not fall far from the tree. They are very appealing and do a fine job of balancing style and stoutness just like their sisters. The other two heifers in the offering are very exciting as well, both are out of cows that exude function and broodiness yet the heifer calves are plenty stylish.
The sire to these Simbravieh heifers, LMC LF Braveheart is out of the many times major champion, LMC Johnnie Walker and out of the breed leading FG Bess Braunvieh cow who was the dam to WTR Baylee and several other elite cattle. Many of the cattle came bred to Braveheart and we liked the calves so much we invested in half of the bull and own him with La Muneca – Flores. There are a couple of January 2014 heifer calves and a couple February 2014 heifer calves in this Simbravieh offering. We look forward to showing them to you.
The other heifer in this offering is out of our first champion LMC show heifer, LMC LF Jo Lisa. From the get go we were impressed with Jo Lisa’s power and eye appeal as a calf and selected her for Kallie. Jo Lisa picked up championships at the LMC Futurity, a Reserve Division at the competitive San Antonio Jr. Show and numerous other titles along the way. When looking for a Simmental bull to flush Jo Lisa to, we looked no further than Foster Bros.’ Denver Champion FBFS Wheelman who has produced lots of great ones and sold semen all around the U.S. The results have been very positive for us and we are proud to offer a ¾ Simmental x ¼ Brahman heifer as an option in this pick lot as well. Remember, these ¾ heifers can compete for the $10,000 San Antonio scholarship now in the American Registered Breed (ARB) female show. In fact, our friend Caleb Rodenbeck led his ¾ Simmental x ¼ Brahman heifer to Grand Champion ARB Female honors at the recent 2014 San Antonio Jr. Show.
