Over the past few months we have really dove into the Simbrah breed and accumulated what we feel are some of the best genetics in the breed from various leading outfits. Prior to talking about one of our initial public offerings, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the hospitality and guidance that you have extended to us thus far. It has been a pleasure to visit and deal with so many of you and we are excited about the Simbrah breed.
We are just now raising our first crop of calves at Harris Farms, thus in an effort to offer you some of our very best we have decided to part with this gorgeous heifer that we acquired from 6G Ranch in Texas. We were attracted to this female due to her design, genetics and especially to her impressive set of EPD’s. Rockstar was a part of a group of LMC 6G Red Rock daughters that convinced me that he needed to be my lead off herd bull.
As mentioned above, Rockstar is sired by the 2012 International Champion Simbrah Bull, LMC 6G Red Rock. Judge Dave Allan called Red Rock, a true “breed changer” on his way to naming him International Champion and we believe he is just that. Red Rock combines his good looks with a loaded pedigree that features LMC WFC Ms. Dream Girl, LMC HS Rocco, LMC EF JW Black, Smith Nu Wave II, LMC Miss Diva, PRR Morning Star, LM She Moves and the breed pillars that came before them.
Rockstar’s dam is the 6G Ms Cajun 3Y129 cow that has a double dose of the BHR Olianna P221 cow that is in the Top 1% for Milk and Maternal Weaning Weight. We like the Fleckvieh influence in our cattle as it adds milk and meat, which in turns means more money. Rockstar’s maternal grandsire, 6G/LMC Rajin Cajun has produced some outstanding cattle and his maternal grandsire is the Triple Crown Winner, LM Full House. We mentioned the greats above, add CNS Dream On, HR Power House I, LM Robs Muneca 3E/89 and some productive Buzzard Hollow Fleckvieh genetics and you have a phenomenal genetic package in this female.
Rockstar sells approximately 5 months bred to LMC Picoso 5A/22, a solid red LN Cosmo son out of a really nice ¾ Simmental x ¼ Brahman Ankonian Red Pericles cow. On the top-side, Picoso goes back to the LMC Red Moves bull, which is a full sib to the awesome LM She Moves cow. And on the bottom, he carries the influence of the ultra productive BOZ Red Coat, LMC Money and Ward’s Bravo 1/09 bulls. Thus, we continue to stack some of the most profitable and predictable genetics with this mating.
