Rocco was one of the most exciting bull calves produced at La Muneca in recent years who went on to be named Grand Champion Bull at the 2009 San Antonio Livestock Show and produce numerous champions, including the Reserve Champion Female at the competitive Houston Jr. Show for the Grahmann’s in 2011 and the 2012 International Champion Bull in LMC 6G Red Rock, now owned by Josh Harris and Lincoln LeCompte. Rocco is sired by the legendary LMC EF JW Black bull, who sired the likes of LMC Miss Diva, LMC ATZ Dr. Feel Good and the many times 2014 major champion, Hagan’s Ginger for Miranda Skaggs among several other cattle who have had a substantial impact on the breed. JW Black was sired by the PMS Second Coat bull that was bred by our friend in Georgia Dr. John Howard. Doc and Bruce Van Meter gave $10,000 at a past MAS sale to own JW Black’s dam, LMC EF Joslin’s Doll. Semen is in short supply on JW Black and has been selling for $1,500 a unit.
Rocco’s dam is the late and great PRR Morning Star donor that produced several great ones working in various herds including the Raub Family’s back-to-back Reserve Champion Female at the Fort Worth Jr. Simbrah Show, LMC HS Marilana. The Morning Star cow was sired by the many times major champion HR Power House bull, one of the most widely used and popular Simbrah bulls of all time. Morning Star’s dam is the timeless LM She Moves cow that produced International Champions in LMC RFI-Smith Red Bullet, PRR Red Ammo, LMC RFI-Smith Black Bullet and Smith Charming Moves. She Moves’ dam was a productive donor for us that raised the likes of LMC Moving On, LMC Moving Up and LMC Red Moves. A great chance to capitalize on built in promotion and one of the elite bloodlines in the breed. Look at the power and predictability in Rocco’s pedigree, one you can use with confidence.
Rocco is the sire to LMC Vida, who won numerous shows for Kallie Fuchs and is now in the Top C and La Muneca herd. He sired a Reserve Champion Bull at the Rio Grande Valley show as well as the BETM Maggie donor for La Blanquita Ranch. He is the sire to the herd bulls, LMC Justice (6G Ranch), LMC Liberty (Santos Escobar) and LMC TF Urban Cowboy (6G Ranch). La Morra Ranch has a slew of full sisters sired by Rocco that have sold well for them and have won numerous championships this year. Rocco is still being used with positive results and you too can utilize this exciting herd sire. Like his sire, JW Black, Rocco does a great job of cleaning up front ends and putting a rear end on them.
Rocco is coming off a strong 2015 spring show season as a granddaughter, RGV LN Hope was selected Grand Champion Female at the 2015 Rio Grande Valley Open Simbrah Show and Reserve Grand Champion at the 2015 Superbowl for Olivia Vela. Hope was a sale topper in last year's MAS Online Sale and is destined to make a substantial impact on the breed . We want to thank Josh Harris for purchasing the Rocco semen and embryos sired by Rocco in the Alamo City Online Sale in February, we appreciate all of your support.
