Talk about an elite V8 pedigree here! BCC Lady Barbie 224/2 is a December calf with a big time future as a show heifer and donor. When we made this mating, the design was to line breed 2 of our favorite animals and some of the most influential in the breed, (+)JDH Karu Manso 800 and +Miss V8 464/6. We did this by combining the popular +Mr. V8 933/7 “Yeti” and our donor, Miss V8 490/7, and man did it work! Outside of showing the original (+)Karu and +V8 464/6 twice in her 3 generation pedigree, Barbie is also backed by +Mr. V8 191/7, +JDH Avery, (+)JDH Dakota, and (+)JDH Charley. With this many performance-oriented cattle in her pedigree, it’s no wonder that Barbie’s performance profile is off the charts – ranking in the TOP 1% of the breed for a whopping 5 traits, to include WW, YW, total maternal, and $bull, and in the top 5% for an additional 4! She’s an all-around carcass quality prospect as well with the marketable traits of carcass weight, marbling and yield grade all ranking in the top 5% of the breed. The only thing better than her pedigree and EPD profile is her phenotype. I believe Barbie is one of the most unique +Mr. V8 933/7 daughters that has been produced to date. She gets all the outstanding traits that her sire is known for with her performance and growth, but also brings in the depth, center body dimension and easy keeping look of her dam. Barbie is going to make a tremendous brood cow – she’s bold in her rib shape, massive in her hip and carries a ton of depth down into her flank. There’s not a lot of “Yeti” daughters out there, and even fewer of this quality – she’d typically be our keeping kind, but we’re committed to offering our best!
