+Mr. V8 347/2 is our first National Champion bull, winning Houston in 1979. He was sold for $100,000 to Colombia in the early 1980s. Brahman historians will recognize the unbelievable breeding potential in this sire. 347/2 had tremendous length of body, depth and is one of the heaviest - if not the heaviest boned bull - we have ever produced. This bone and depth still carries and breeds true on his progeny. He is the sire of the Vanguard (both Register of Renown and Maternal Performance Sire) (+)JDH Manso Grande 412 bull.
347/2 is sired by +Sugarland’s Loxacrata 98-561/5, a +JDH Loxey Gamel Manso 55 son, out of +Miss V8 218/1, an original V8 cow bred by Howard Parker. She was one of the longest bodied cows ever produced at V8 Ranch. This particular breeding worked magic for V8 in the 1980s.
347’s influence has flowed through world famous Brahman bloodlines including Dakota, Liberty, and Karu. He has produced some of the best females in breed history, both in the United States and Columbia. With limited new genetics being offered in the U.S., we feel that - when mated correctly - these old, proven bulls could be the key to producing that next great outcross sire the breed is looking for. We have less than 30 units of semen still available at the ranch on 347/2. This semen is priceless.
