Big Shot is a sale feature and an own son of our 2012 International Champion Bull LMC 6G Red Rock. His first set of calves is now on the ground and we are impressed. Like Big Shot here, they are thick, have lots of appeal and are correct in their conformation. Big Shot’s paternal grandmother, LMC WFC Ms. Dream Girl, was a many times major champion, the best in the breed in our opinion and a productive donor in our program. Big Shot’s paternal grandsire is the 2009 Grand Champion Bull at San Antonio under Dr. Jim Mazurkiewicz, LMC HS Rocco. Big Shot goes back to the legendary LMC EF JW Black bull, which is famous for putting a sleek front end coupled with a big rear end on his calves just like Big Shot here. His semen sell for $1,500 and produces results just like the International Champion bull for Hagan Cattle Co. and the many times champion Miranda Skaggs heifer all produced by one unit of semen by Hagan Cattle Co.
On the bottom side, Big Shot is out of a capacious, high performing and good milking PMS Second Coat cow. He was bred by our friend Dr. John Howard up in Georgia and was Carlitos’ pick of a stout set of bulls up at Stagg Cattle Company’s sale. The Second Coat bull did us a phenomenal job before being killed by lightning. If not for Big Shot being horned, this is the type of calf that we develop, show and breed for his good looks and solid bloodline.
If you’re in the market for a major league show prospect, check out Big Shot. We have produced the Grand Champion Overall Steer at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and been Reserve Overall twice, as well as produced several other champions at STAR (including Reserve Overall twice) and county shows across the country. Likewise, a LMC steer won the scholarship in San Antonio for Tyler Hernandez and has made the sale in Houston and San Antonio.
