Purebred Simmental Bull - ASA# 2527605
The opportunity to be involved in this one of a kind event that focuses on giving back to various worthy causes is an honor for my wife Paula and I. Throughout the year we strive to give back in our community, to the Simbrah breed through our leadership efforts in the American Jr. Simbrah Roundup and to the youth through our many efforts in developing them through agriculture. Thus, when Carlos asked us if we would like to participate in this event, it was certainly an easy decision for us here at KF Livestock to give back.
Perhaps one of the most intriguing lots of the inaugural LMC Giving Thanks Online Sale is this semen offering on the 2012 National Champion Simmental Bull at the National Western in Denver, Colorado, FBFS Wheel Man. This unique individual is a powerful structured one from the ground up, is very sound and mobile in his stride and has a lot of natural base width. Wheel Man is a clean made individual in his sheath and through his neck, is bold through his rib shape and stout over his top. He excels in correctness, soundness and is arguably one of the hottest Simmental sires going today. His frame score is ideal to fit the genetic goals of most cattlemen and he offers a productive and profitable genetic package. Simply put, any way you look at him, he is solid.
Wheel Man is sired by the famous SVF Steel Force S701 bull who has hit many a home runs thus far in the Simmental and SimAngus breeds with his progeny. Steel Force semen generally sells for over $200 a unit due to his knack of producing cattle that have an elite design, regularly top sales and win their fair share of major shows. Other notable Steel Force progeny besides Wheel Man include the popular major champion Mr. HOC Broker bull, FBF1 Combustible who has become a go to sire and numerous females that have kicked the quality of several breeds up a notch. Wheel Man’s paternal grand sire, CNS Dream On, is one of the most widely used and productive Simmental bulls of all time and can be found in many of the breed’s most elite pedigrees. As you can see, the Wheel Man bull comes about his success honestly, being backed by the Steel Force and Dream On bulls who are arguably two of the most successful bulls in the last decade.
Wheel Man’s dam is the capacious and productive SVF Star Struck S199 cow that made a name for herself at Foster Brothers Farms. S199 is a ¾ Simmental X ¼ Angus cow sired by the STF Momentum H508 bull that is a direct son to the popular SRS Fortune 500 bull. Momentum himself was a former champion, widely used AI sire and producer of high quality cattle. I have followed S199’s production over the last few years, even bid on some of them myself and I can certainly tell you she has done a tremendous job of producing cattle that work in any arena. When looking for a herd bull you can count on, you always want to consider his mother as maternal traits are key to your bottom line. You’re taken care of in this department with Wheel Man as the S199 cow is a functional, easy fleshing cow with a solid track record.
Wheel Man progeny have continued the legacy of success that his cow family represents as his progeny are now selling for breed leading figures and accumulating major championships themselves. At the recent Buckles & Banners Sale in Iowa an open Wheel Man daughter demanded an impressive final bid of $78,000. Just a few weeks back at the 2014 American Royal Open Simmental Show in Kansas City, which is known for being one of the most competitive shows in the land, a Wheel Man daughter was selected as the Reserve Grand Champion Female. Wheel Man also produced the 2014 National Champion Percentage Simbrah Female at the National Simbrah Show in San Antonio. In the LMC GenePLUS Online Sale II back in March, we sold a pick out of the heart of our calf crop for $5,100 to the Chapa Family and they selected a striking ¾ Simmental X ¼ Brahman heifer calf sired by Wheel Man and out of our LMC LF Jo Lisa donor. These are just a few of the many accomplishments that the FBFS Wheel Man bull has to his credit and he is just now getting warmed up.
Stock in the Wheel Man bull is certainly rising and the opportunity to purchase his semen will become more difficult as time passes. His pedigree tells you what he can do, but his progeny are telling you that you can count on it. Don’t miss your opportunity to assist us in developing our youth while helping yourself to some of the hottest and most proven Simmental genetics in the Foster Brothers’ 2012 National Champion Wheel Man bull.
