An absolutely stunning female, 169/1 is one that probably should have made her way into the show barn. She was born to a first calf heifer who did a great job with her, but she still didn’t wean off with the shine that some of her contemporaries did. After she got on feed, wow, she put it in high gear! From the profile she’s so balanced and feminine with a tremendous maternal look to her center body. It’s truly hard to make one this capacious yet still that clean made and eye catching. She gets this style from her dam, Miss V8 15/9, that came out of the V8 sale pens and became a competitive show heifer. She’s a little bit different than mainstream V8 pedigrees being out of a JDH Hawk Manso 666/5 son and Miss Pecan Acres 171. While that may not stand out on paper, Kolten Thigpen called that Hawk son one of the most impressive Brahman bulls he’s ever seen when he got off the truck and Miss Pecan Acres 171 has turned into a ranch favorite and donor for V8 ranch. Jim Williams has called me asking about this 15/9 cow several times since we got her from them a few years ago and she recently produced 32 embryos in a single IVF aspiration with reverse sorted semen, while she was 60 days bred! On the top side, her sire is our tried and true, JDH Mr Hammer Manso 406/8, the (+)JDH Sir Lawford Manso 616/6 son who has done nothing but put tremendous production traits on his daughters. His calves are fertile at a young age, milk well, are vigorous at birth and low birthweight and they pass that on to their offspring. 169/1 has also become a ranch favorite because she has such a great disposition. She’ll raise the bar for any breeding program.
