Grade 10 - RABBITS - This is our 6th year participating in 4H Market Rabbit pens so I am confident in my skillset and knowledge of the rabbit industry. My name is Cole Samford and this is my second year in the commercial heifer program along with the rabbits. In our barn I am the general caretaker so it’s my job to make sure that they have clean food and water at all times clean sanitary living space and to ensure general quality of life for the animals. My market litter was produced by crossing our buck Mordecai with our doe Barley. The biggest thing I have learned this year is the importance of the small things such as keeping accurate records of who is bred to whom when were they last given any type of medicine and how much feed is optimum for certain rabbits and/or commercial heifers.
