Lot 17 - Miss Junior College - JDH LADY MANSO 130/1

Potential, Potential, Potential: Miss Junior College is the youngest heifer in our sale. She has gone through a lot in a short time and is doing it at a younger age than the rest.  She has been de-horned, branded, vaccinated, adjusted to climate change, not to mention being separated from her mother most every day to try to get broke.  We are putting this into her footnotes because she visibly does not have the cover the other younger aged sale babies do.  But if you look past that you will see the potential this young heifer is going to end up having.  Being comparable to the other heifers that are 45- 60 days older as far as growth and daily weight gain is a good sign that she will be able to adjust having her first calf and those to follow as far as sustaining a desirable weight while lactating.  This is a major mothering trait that people tend to over look. We think she will be the one to beat once she gets a good cover on like the older heifers.  Lady 130/1 has the best hip in the sale maybe, a good spring of rib and stands on a good wide base.  The sky is the limit on her performance  capabilities down the road. 

Miss Junior College’s pedigree is not our normal pairing but we like it.  255/1, her dam, is a Heritage cow but still has FCC genetics with Fusig being an Atlas son.  JDH Mr. Manso 837 was the Grand Champion Bull at the 2013 All-American and his calves are impressing us with each one born.  Miss Junior College is a double bred Atlas if you look close since 837’s dam is an Atlas daughter.  After the year Atlas had in the show ring alone anyone should want to be bidding on this heifer based on her pedigree possibilities.
