Grade 7 - BROILERS - This year while preparing for the fair I have learned the value of teaching and being helpful to my siblings. Helping a loved one and teaching them was key to this year. My eight year old brother was able to show this year. I was put in charge of helping him. I was not happy at first. After a few days of teaching him he came into the barn and said “June thank you for helping me with my chickens.” My heart was fixing to melt. I helped him learn how to water and feed the chickens how to hold them and how to clean their pens as well as how to detect if they had good breasts or not. This year I have learned two valuable skills that will stick with me the rest of my life.
