Grade 6 - BROILERS - Hi I’m Hadleigh Chavis. I am 11 years old and a 6th grader at Franklin Middle School. I am raising poultry for my 2020 Robertson County Fair Project. This is my first year to raise poultry. On February 14th when I received my chickens I did not know a lot about raising or showing chickens. I was able to attend multiple clinics to learn about the feeding and culling routines. We have culled several times to take out birds with disease and reduce competition while maintain space for feeding and watering. I have learned about responsibility routines and how to care for poultry while earning money for my future college tuition.
