Grade 8 - TURKEYS - I am Faith Wilganowski a member of Bremond 4H and FFA. My project is Turkeys. I have been showing turkeys at RFCA for 6 years. I learned how to teach them to eat and drink. I also socialized with them so they will not be afraid at the fair. Turkeys are a lot of work tending to their feeding needs and cleaning cages several times a day. This group was interesting because they seemed to pair up with friends to eat and sleep. I learned how to keep them cool in the warm temperatures and warm in the cold which is not easy with our Texas weather. I enjoyed spending time with them and watching their interesting behaviors. I am more appreciative of our food sources due to the extreme amount of dedication it takes to get these birds to fill out properly for processing. Thank you for your consideration.
