Grade 7 - TURKEYS - Hello, my name is Emma Rekieta. I am 13 years old and a member of the Booger County 4H. The project I choose to raise this year was a market turkey. Our county show is a hen only show. I have raised market turkeys for the Robertson County Fair for the last five years. Raising a poultry project has taught me a lot over the past several years. It has helped teach me all the responsibilities of raising an animal, including caring for and proper feeding of a market animal to reach its maximum potential. I am involved in many extra-curricular activities, so this project has also taught me how to manage time. Showing animals is definitely a family project, and I have really appreciated all the time that I have been able to spend with my family. There has definitely been a lot of ups and downs throughout this project, but this is what will help prepare me for life in the future. Thank you for considering me for this auction.
