The obvious reason that he’s named Picasso is for his painted hair coat, but if you look past that, man does he also paint a really cool picture from the profile! Picasso is incredible in his design and angulation – it’s rare to find a bull that’s jet level down his topline and out of his hip like this. The outline that he paints from the profile is truly next level, with his length, extension, and balance. Not only is Picasso good looking, but he is also huge legged, big topped, and bold ribbed. His growth and performance is tremendous, being fast growing and large statured. At maturity, he’s going to be a big, impressive herd sire. This isn’t surprising given that his sire is the performance trait leader, +Mr. V8 933/7 “Yeti” who is a +Mr. V8 191/7 son out of Miss V8 997/6, a top (+)JDH Karu Manso 800 daughter. In his first several calf crops, “Yeti” has consistently sired top sellers and champions, and we can see what all the hype is about with our first litter of calves from him! When we were looking at donor cows to mate him to, we knew “Yeti” was prone to throwing a lot of pigment on his calves, so we included a red cow in the group, BCC Lady Rosalie Rojo 134/0, and although he didn’t come out the red that we were looking for, we are still thrilled with the result! Rosalie is a daughter of +BB Bronson 299/3, the sire of the 2020 International Champion Red Bull, and out of +Moreno Ms. Lady Ritmo 712, a top producing donor sired by +JDH Elmo. His performance profile backs up his true performance, as he ranks in the top 10% of the breed for the economically relevant traits of WW and YW. He’s incredibly unique, and personally I’m a big fan of his color although not traditional.
