5B-271 is another pre-sale favorite due to his eye catching phenotype, tremendous bone, muscle and moderate frame score. He will not have trouble classifying as a Simbrah as he is a purebred Simbrah and has the color pattern that indicates he has Simmy blood and the leather and ear to authenticate his Brahman heritage. He is a MEAT WAGON with a wide base that travels well and very proud with his head high.
His sire, LMC Arcadio was the 2012 National Champion bull as a yearling and as you can see in his photo below is A BEEF MACHINE. His sire was the 2009 Reserve National Champion, LMC ATZ Dr. Feel Good and was bred by one our juniors Jacob Atzenhoffer. His sire was the great LMC EF JW Black bull. Feel Good's full sib is the famous LMC ATZ Miley cow that is the only heifer to win SYNERGY twice. Indeed a family of winners is what you want your next show calf to come from.
His dam has been a very productive 3/4 x 1/4 cow for us with a show heifer selling to Samantha Greiner, a Simbravieh to Brance Crowell, another fancy show heifer to Cassie Flores and a top Rhino son that just came off test.
If you want a Simbrah steer that can walk the talk - here he is. We bred all 14 champions and 10 of the reserve champions at the first 14 RGV Simbrah Steer shows with an average DOB of 12/25 making these steers an average of 14.5 months of age. The first seven of these years we were still trying to breed the biggest tallest cattle possible. Not that we have moderated our cattle and made them more functional we have reduced this age to 13 to13.5 months of age on our champion steers having won one year with an 11 month old calf. American cattle take less time on feed to get the job done which is so important when trying to teach our 4-H and FFA Students the economics of a steer project and buying cattle that fit your environment.
