Grade 8 - LAMBS - Hello my name is Rowdy Watkins and I am an eighth grader at Franklin Middle School. My project for the 2020 RCFA is a lamb named “Fred”. I have had “Fred in my barn since 6/23/2019. “Fred” is a blue whether with great shape a tremendous rack and a fresh loin. I have learned leadership goal setting responsibility health and medications of sheep as well as a great deal about the sheep industry through my project. I’ve spent countless hours with “Fred” working his leg hair teaching him to walk with his head up changing his feed and supplements for the right amount of coverage and teaching him to brace so he’s at his best when the judge comes to feel him. Although I am saddened the fair was cancelled I am ready to start looking for next year’s market lamb project and getting ready for the 2021 RCFA.
