Lot 11 - Miss Dubina Rose 280/9 - Replacement Heifer

Phenotype, Pedigree, & Performance are the essential 3 P’s that we focus on at Dubina Rose Ranch.  Miss Dubina Rose 280/9 is one of our favorites and only in a “herd downsize” where all of the calf crop is being sold would she be available.  As you can see she is growthy, structurally sound, big bodied, long, level, heavy muscled, and adequate in her bone but there is so much more to this “lead off” female.  She is sired by Mr. V8 830/6 who we took the advantage of purchasing semen before his inventory was depleted and no longer offered.  830/6 was a former show bull for V8 Ranch and along with his flushmate and International Champion sister, +Miss V8 137/7, won an International Champion ET Produce of Dam for their International Champion Dam, +Miss V8 228/6.  Of course you recognize the sire of 830/6 as the iconic (+)JDH Karu Manso 800 who you can read all about in lot #1.  Studying this pedigree you will realize that both parents of 830/6 were International Champions, his pedigree consists of 5 of a possible 6 Register of Renowns and then he is a proven sire with many of the top sellers in both the V8 Ranch Female & Bull Sales to his credit.  To match the value of the top side of the pedigree of Miss Dubina Rose 280/9 is her dam the Maternal Merit Cow, proven producer, and daughter of an International Champion and Maternal Performance Sire, =JDH Lady Susie Manso.  We purchased Susie with our partner Greg Mathis in 2018 from Moreno Ranches as a 17 year old cow and she produced embryos until she was 19 years of age.  Not only did Susie calf early, often, raise heavy calves and do it for a long time but she produced 45 offspring with many of them being the top sellers and performers for Bonchasse Land & Cattle, Moreno Ranches, Dubina Rose Ranch, Mathis Cattle Company, J.D. Hudgins-Locke Division, and Bud McCraken who had a daughter that won the International Champion ET Produce of Dam.  For those who study the pedigree of 280/9 you will realize that she is the “signature cross” combining the influence of (+)Karu and (+)Madison.  With such a proven pedigree it should come as no surprise that 280/9 offers a valuable performance profile that is moderate for birth weight, superior for growth and milk as well as ranks in the top 1% of the breed for scrotal circumference (early puberty).  We wish the best of luck to the buyer of this female as we think she is special and will be influential in any progressive operation.
