Grade 12 - TURKEYS - My name is Shelby Nelson. I am a senior and apart of the Franklin FFA. This is the second year for me to do an animal project. In the past I have always done art entrys but the animal projects help me gain caring experience for my future. I am showing turkeys this year as my animal project. My brothers and I have been caring for these turkeys since November 2019. While raising these turkeys I have learned commitment even when I was tired I had to go check and made sure they were fed and watered. Caring for the turkeys include making sure their feeders and waters are always full keeping them clean and making sure they were not getting pecked on and bleeding. I have fed and cared for these turkeys since november and enjoyed the time I had with them as I close out my final year of showing.
