Lot Information:
Solid Mesquite Last Supper Sculpture with a Few Character Cracks Looking for a Special Home
Donor - Carlos X. Guerra Family

We always start off this sale with a religious item and thought that this would be a great lot to start with. It is a MASTERPIECE that can be the highlight of any room, church hall, church, camp house, etc. It is located at La Muneca’s Office just south of Linn, TX.

This COLLECTOR’S item was made in Mexico and was originally bought by Guerra Bros. for $1,500 to install in a grotto that they were going to build by St. Anne’s Church in San Manuel. Plans changed so they donated it to this sale two years ago. Carlos bought it for $2,000 and was excited to add it to their dining room until plans were changed by the “boss”. So now Carlos and Sister are donating it again. It is heavy and weighs in excess of 200 lbs., has a few character cracks, must be kept oiled and will be around for a long time. To us IT IS ONE OF A KIND !!

Wait till you taste the delicious Mesquite products made by the Cappadona family that are in the basket included with this lot. MIL GRACIAS to their support through the years. Our Compadres Fred and Josie were a part of the New Movement that was the beginning of what is now the LSMCIC – same families just a lot older.

From Victoria Cappadona – “Mesquite trees can be found all over the world, from the American Southwest to northern Africa, eastern Asia, and even right here in our own Rio Grande Valley.  In total there are over forty different species of Mesquite to be found all across the globe. Most of these are native to South America which is thought to be the place of origin for the many different varieties.

Here at Cappadona Ranch, we carry on the tradition of seeing the mesquite for what it is – a truly unique and versatile natural wonder. We share our love for the mesquite tree and it’s delicious beans by offering a variety of scrumptious mesquite bean products like our Mesquite Bean Jelly, Roasted Mesquite Tea, Mesquite Bean Roasted Coffee, and even Mesquite Bean Flour.

The mesquite, for all the wonderful history that it has had with people, carries on an even longer tradition and relationship with the wildlife on our planet.
