As of Tues. evening the number committed to the Mar. 14 Quinte Stocker Sale is in the range of 350 - 375 with the likelihood that we will reach 500 by sale time. In this "vaccinations preferred" sale, 90%+ will be vaccinated with the vast majority being vaccinated with live vaccine.  Added value vaccinations frequently include immunization for blackleg, Pasteurella and Somnus, as well as parasite control.  The offering will be a combination of calves [most weaned for some time] and heavier cattle [800 lb.+].The most prominent breed represented in the sale will be Char/CharX with a significant representation of other breed influences

[i]38 Char/CharX [26 steers, 12 heifers] in the weight range of approx 800 lb. - vaccinated with live vaccine in mid Feb./14 as well as two applications of parasite control Jan. 7 and Feb. 5 - steers banded as young calves except one surgically castrated by vet in Feb. and one pinched in Feb. -tag numbers available to identify these animals- all cattle are Age Verified - sired by stong pedigreed registered Char bull -
weaned Dec. 2 - fed wrapped balage and dry hay with approx 2-3 lb. of mixed grain daily
[ii]33 CharX [12 heifers, 21 steers] in 600 - 700 lb. weight range - vaccinated with live 5-way + Pasteurella, and blackleg on Jan. 4 as well as parasite control - steers banded and heifers are guaranteed to be open- weaned in late December - fed wet hay, corn silage, distillers and free choice protein
