As of Monday, April 30, consigned numbers are slightly over 700 for the all-vaccinated May 4 video sale with the potential to reach 850+ by sale date. The sale will be broadcast LIVE online on the website www.cattleinmotion.com with buyers having the opportunity to bid online. This is a mixed sale of yearlings and calves with approximately half of the offering being 800 lb. +. The vast majority of the cattle have been vaccinated with live vaccine with frequent value-added vaccinations for blackleg, pasteurella, somnus and parasite control. The majority of the producers are prepared to guarantee the heifers to be open. Most calves have been weaned. A large number of the cattle have been double moved. The offering will include cattle suitable for grass as well as feedlot cattle and many high quality
heifer lots having potential as herd replacements. Char and CharX will represent the largest breed grouping, with significant numbers, also, of Limo, LimoX, and Angus crosses. At present, almost 80% of the offering comes from 11 larger one-owner lots listed below from which there will be many large ring lots.
[i]150 Char, CharX, and B. Angus steers in the 950 lb. weight range - 5-way live vaccine and parasite control in Dec./11 - guaranteed to be properly castrated - all double moved -
on corn silage, distillers grain and dry hay - many large consistent ring lots of excellent quality
[ii]60 CharX and LimoX heifers in the 700 lb. weight range - 5-way live vaccine and parasite control as purchased and parasite control repeated in Feb./12 - all are guaranteed to be open and are double moved - on corn silage, balage, dry hay and 13% Vintage pellets
[iii]50 Char and CharX heifers in the 875 - 950 lb. weight range- all purchased as vaccinated in Oct./11 with either Pyramid Fp5 + Presponse or Bovishield Gold + One Shot- Parasite control was administered on Dec. 20/11 - no MGA was fed - all guaranteed to be open and all are double moved - fed corn silage, 2nd cut alfalfa hay and 2 lb./day/hd of dried distillers grain [corn] - most of group sired by Patton bulls
[iv]50 Limo x Char heifers and steers in the 800 lb. weight range - live 5-way including pasteurella, parasite control and 200 day implant administered in Jan./12 - neck vaccinated with heifers guaranteed open and steers castrated surgically - weaned in Jan./12 - from vaccinated cowherd - all age verified- fed balage and cracked corn
[v]35 - 40 LimoX and CharX heifers and steers up to a weight of 800 lb. approx-- live 5-way vaccination + parasite control in late Feb./12 - dehorned and castrated surgically in late Feb./12
[vi]39 Char, CharX and Black heifers in the 700 - 750 lb. weight range - purchased as properly vaccinated in Nov./11 - guaranteed to be open and all are double moved - no implants and no grain - fed distillers, corn silage, and hay from a TMR
[vii]26 steers and 10 heifers R. Ang X Char - steers in 900 - 950 lb weight range and heifers in 850 - 900 lb. weight range - live 5-way including pasteurella, blackleg and parasite control on Nov. 3/11 - heifers guaranteed to be open and steers pinched at 4-5 mo. of age - live vaccinated cowherd - fed oat/pea balage and dry hay
[viii]30 -35 CharX heifers and steers in 650 - 800 lb weight range - vaccinated in neck with live 5-way, blackleg/somnus and given parasite control on Dec. 21/11 - weaned on or before Dec. 21/11 - heifers guaranteed to be open and steers castrated surgically - all are age verified - fed free choice corn silage, 2nd cut hay and wrapped peas/oats
[ix]30 - 32 CharX heifers and steers spanning a weight range of 450 - 800 lb - live 4-way + pasteurella, black leg and parasite control administered in 2nd week of Mar./12 - most steers banded at birth with remainder being castrated surgically - all weaned - fed corn silage, dry hay and a bit of grain
