The Brahman Foundation Funding the Future VI Online Sale
Location
Dear Brahman Friends:
On behalf of The Brahman Foundation, we would like to thank you for your interest in this sale. Through your continuous support and generous donations, we have raised over $400,000 that is being used and will be used toward the youth of the Brahman breed.
The Brahman Foundation is led by volunteers that are dedicated to the future of the American Brahman Breed. The Foundation gives support to programs that aid in the development of youth through education, leadership, scholarships and much more. Just this year we have proudly awarded:
$8,400 in awards to the Showmanship winners at the AJBA All American.
$1,000 a piece to the two Overall High Point All Around Winners at the AJBA All American. Another $1,000 to another deserving LMC & Friends ANIMO Award Winner.
$18,250 in scholarships to our hard-working graduates, bringing us to over $100,000 awarded in scholarships.
$5,000 in the Leadership Contest Lottery which awards juniors who were involved in contests at the AJBA All American with the number of chances to win increasing with each event they participate in.
Additional Monies to State & Regional Brahman Associations to assist them in providing programs to reward young people and expand Brahman promotion.
The Brahman Foundation usually hosts an annual Leadership Camp where juniors from across the nation meet for a four-day camp to learn about the industry, leadership, build relationships with their fellow members and much more. Historically, these camps are hosted by universities with agriculture programs such as Texas A&M, Mississippi State, McNeese State and Texas A&M Kingsville.
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 this year’s annual Leadership Camp scheduled to be held in the Hungerford, Texas area was cancelled. We are now looking forward to heading there in 2021. However, shortly after the time our 2020 camp would have been held our fellow Brahman breeders in East Texas and South Louisiana unfortunately experienced extensive damage due to Hurricane Laura.
The Brahman Foundation was able to lend aid to numerous families and juniors, both monetarily and in kind with necessary supplies to rebuild or prepare to begin rebuilding. Over $22,500 was rounded up for our fellow breeders thanks to numerous donors.
Although it has been a challenging year, we are proud to see that the Brahman breed has sustained and grown its market share even. We believe this is evident in current auctions and in the offering that the donors have brought to us today.
If you believe that our youth are the key to the future of the American Brahman breed, we invite you to join The Brahman Foundation by helping support the development of tomorrow’s leaders and breeders of this great breed.
In closing, if you have ever donated to, purchased from, or supported The Brahman Foundation, we would like to THANK YOU for your support as we simply cannot make positive things happen without you. Enjoy the sale that our generous donors have put together and we appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
The Brahman Foundation
