The American Brahman Breeders Association is excited to offer you our 4th annual Performance Tested Brahman Bull Sale .
This program was designed to help our breeders collect performance data , but also showcase their genetics in a 100% data based bull test. These bull are the result of that test and are the ones that performed the best on those criteria of the test. When this event was started in 2015 the committee's plan was to evaluate the bulls as a commercial buyer would, giving them options of performance data most important for them.
The criteria used are : A birth weight epd B scrotal circumference C gain on test
D scan data Rib Eye Area E Intramuscular Fat .
All bulls were sifted by an independent 3 man commercial panel for structural problems and gross phenotypic defects. The 3 man committee also evaluated the bulls for disposition scores 1 - 5 . Bulls 3 and over were excluded from sale.
Developed at Texana Feeders LTD in Floresville ,Texas in grass traps on a forage based silage ration.
These bulls are in optimum condition and are purposely not fat nor over conditioned. They are ready to take home and go to work. Bulls may be picked up at Texana Feeders October 29 thru November 2nd before 3 pm .
Buyers will receive a transferred registration certificate and have a health paper and negative trich test.
All offspring from these bulls on any type of female will be eligible for participation in ABBAs EAR program which is a data driven cooperative feeding and harvesting program. Please contact ABBA for information.
The ABBA s Research and Breed Improvement Committee is proud of this offering and the ability to give our members a way to market quality Brahman bulls. Our goal is to benefit both sides and improve U.S. cattle herds. We take performance and the future of Brahman cattle seriously and we understand our breed must be as focused as other breeds in pursuing data improvement.
As a breed we are striving to produce functional ,performance driven cattle with balanced traits that will work all over the world.
